 Ingredients :
1 LB Italian sausage
1 small onion, diced
1 28 oz can tomatoes (I use diced)
1 12 oz can tomato paste
1 TBS sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp oregano leaves
1/2 tsp thyme leaves
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
1/4 tsp garlic salt
1 bay leaf
1 16 oz pkg lasagna noodles
2 eggs
1 15 oz container ricotta cheese
1 16 oz pkg mozzarella cheese, shredded or diced
 
 How to Prepare :
1. Over high heat in a good size pot or dutch oven, cook sausage and onion until sausage is done and onions are clear. If using Italian sausage links, remove casings. Break up sausage as it cooks. Drain.

2. Add tomatoes, their liquid, and next 8 ingredients. Bring mixture to boiling, then reduce to low. Cover and simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

3. Discard bay leaf, and spoon off any grease that accumulates on top of sauce.

4. Cook laasagna noodles as label directs, drain.

5. In a 13' x 9' baking dish, arrange half of drained lasagna noodles, overlapping to fit. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

6. In a bowl, combine eggs and ricotta cheese and spoon one half of this mixture over lasagna noodles in baking dish.

7. Sprinkle with one half of the mozzarella; then top with one half of the sauce. Repeat layers. Bake in oven 45 minutes. Remove from oven and let stand 10 minutes before serving.
